Emulsion Mixtures of Fractionated Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement and Quarry By-Products: A Laboratory Evaluation

چکیده
Emulsion aggregate mixtures (EAMs) are blends stabilized with an asphalt emulsion for pavement base layer applications. These typically prepared using crushed aggregates and designed primarily a tensile strength-based criteria. Advances in granular material testing technologies have led to the development of advanced resilient response characterization devices such as University Illinois FastCell (UI-FastCell). Simultaneously, fractionated reclaimed (FRAP) Quarry by-product (QB) materials becoming increasingly common construction. This paper evaluates inclusion QB FRAP EAMs. First, design selected EAMs was performed combined Asphalt Academy TG2 Anderson Thompson mixture approach. The were first assessed Indirect Tensile Strength (ITS) Ratio (TSR) track changes both strength moisture damage resistance QB. In addition, anisotropic UI-FastCell assess modulus permanent deformation characteristics. Our results show significant enhancements strength, increased resistance, reduced 30% 70% negatively affected EAM; however, content 50% no improved its suitability application.

This paper presents the effects of different amounts of reclaimed asphalt on fatigue life of asphalt mixtures. Central composite method was used to design of experiments based on response surface method (RSM). Binder type (Pen 60/70 and Pen 85/100), reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) content (25, 50 and 75%) and loading strain (150, 250 and 350 micro strain) were selected as independent variables...

For many years, the asphalt industry has been aware of the energy savings and environmental benefits inherent in cold mix or warm mix asphalt technologies. Environmental awareness and the need for improved energy efficiency has increased rapidly over the past few years and extensive measures such as the air pollution reduction targets set by the European Union under the Kyoto Protocol have enco...
متن کاملUtilization of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (rap) in Jordan Roadways
Using Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in asphalt mixes has become a common practice in many countries as experience indicated that the recycling of asphalt pavements is very advantageous from different perspectives. Some of the advantages of utilizing RAP include conservation of asphalt and aggregate resources, conservation of energy, and reduction in life-cycle cost. In this study, the suitab...
